In the past template making has been a labor intensive task, they were all made by hand. No two templates were exactly the same. Then came the use of CNC technology, templates were able to be made with repeatability and much faster, but you had to be a CAD programmer to design and cut them. We have made template making simple! We have developed a system using our table top router and specifically designed software to help create templates in as little as four easy steps.

SCAN With the use of a commercially available scanner, you can scan a wood sample or a hand made drawing into our Template Sketcher© software. If a CAD drawing is available, this step can be skipped and the CAD drawing can be imported into the next step.     CLEAN Once the image is in the Template Sketcher© software, you can trace or clean up the image. This software is specifically designed for this task. With a click of the icons on the taskbar the operator traces the sample and can modify lines and radiuses. This is especially useful for damaged samples or hand drawn images.     CREATE Next you bring the template drawing into Cut-2D©. This is where The drawing is prepared for running on the CNC Router. A few ease functions allow you to designate a router bit for cutting the template, a material to cut and other factors important for CNC Machining. Once set up, these variables rarely change. The final click of a mouse writes the CNC G-code for you! No computer degree needed.     RUN Now comes the fun part, the template material is loaded on the machine, The CNC G-code program that was written is opened in Mach3© and with a click of a mouse, we are cutting a template! The Mach3© software monitors the machine, controls the speeds and gives a real time digital display of the status of the program.

Scan a design using the scanner, which is included in our full package, or draw your own design using our template profile drawing software Template Sketcher©.
